Ask Me Anything

How did you get into design?
Honestly? I was volunteering in Quito, Ecuador and needed cash. A friend taught me Photoshop and I started pitching local businesses on websites (and English translations). It was wildly unqualified energy, but it worked and I fell in love with creative work and the magic of remote freelancing which lead me to go back to school for my second degree.

What kind of work do you actually like doing?
Anything that involves making things clearer, faster, or better performing. I love when creative has a job to do whether that’s teaching someone how a product works or getting them to click “add to cart.”

Do you only do deodorant stuff?
Nope. But I do have strong opinions on packaging, scent names, and how to talk about body odor without making it weird. That said, I’ve also worked on beer brands, children’s programs, brand systems, and weird passion projects involving subs and soda.

What's your vibe as a teammate?
Calm in the chaos. Quick with a solution. Equal parts thoughtful and get-it-done. I am the girl that throws out odd ideas that (sometimes) work. Also: decent at Slack reactions and always down to talk about my guilty pleasure reality shows if you need a break.

Fun fact?
I once cold-emailed a bakery in Ecuador asking if I could design their website. I got free empanadas and a homepage out of it. No regrets.
